VARK Questionnaire

My results of the VARK questionnaire were as follows:

Visual - 5

Aural - 2

Read/Write - 1

Kinesthetic - 5

The results show that I am equally strong in both the visual and kinesthetic styles of learning, and particularly week in the areas of aural and read/write. The result did not particularly come as a surprise to me, as i already know that i learn better when there are pictures, videos and diagrams to follow - as well as the kinesthetic style of prefering to experience something to understand and remember it. The VARK website describes people that score the same in two or more areas as Multimodal learners. This can be an advantage to me as it means there is more than just the one learning environment that I can work in, and I can adjust myself accordingly to either of these styles when required.

However, my low score in the other categories means that I need to work on these styles. I could do this for aural by practicing discussions, explaining my ideas to other people and listening to other people's interesting stories and examples relating to the subject. I can also try recording myself reading my notes aloud and listen back to it, to get used to taking in information aurally. To improve my learning skills in a read/write situation I can practice writing lists, reading definitions of important terms, re-organising visuals into statements and general reading books about the subject.

  1. A good reflection on your learning style. You have now completed the PDP element of the module and have gained your 10%. Please post your literature review as soon as possible.
